Alexandra Youth Precinct and Skate Park

Older children and young people can use the Council-managed skate park and BMX track at the corner of Maroondah Highway and Bayley Street. Choose supervision and protective equipment appropriate to the young person, their experience and the activity.

Murrindindi Maternal and Child Health – Alexandra

Families with children from birth to school age can receive free, confidential help with development, feeding, sleep and settling, behaviour and positive parenting. Alexandra appointments are held at the Perkins Street centre on Mondays and Thursdays, 9 am–4 pm, by appointment. First Time Parent Groups run locally, while breastfeeding support is available as a Thursday morning drop-in service.

Murrindindi Youth Services

Young people aged 12–25 who live, work or play in Murrindindi Shire can join connection and wellbeing programs, events and initiatives or seek individual support and referrals. FReeZA activities take place in supervised venues and are alcohol-, vape- and smoke-free.

Murrindindi Supported Playgroups

Nearby Yea and Kinglake host free weekly, facilitator-led playgroups during school terms. Sessions combine children’s play with parent connection, practical skill-building and information about local services. Families can enrol through Council; check the locations and current arrangements before travelling from Alexandra.

Paediatric consulting service at Alexandra District Health

Dr David Cutting provides a visiting paediatric consultation once a month on a Friday. A referral is required, and bookings and enquiries go through the specialist’s Melbourne rooms rather than a general walk-in clinic.

The Orange Door – Goulburn

This free regional service covers Murrindindi Shire and supports women, children and young people experiencing family violence, as well as families needing help with children’s care and wellbeing.
